Branding for Success
Following from past NHS Elect masterclasses on branding, ranging from presentations from BMW and Overseas Hospitals and Bupa Hospitals, we focus this year on managing brands during organisation change and public sector branding in lean times. How do organisations use the brand refresh to bring stakeholders closer together and what does the NHS brand mean for merging new NHS organisations? How Trusts are focussing their efforts in branding private patient services in response to the lifting of the private patients income cap. This workshop brings together speakers who will stimulate discussion and encourage us to share approaches, updates, advice and latest guidance.
In this session, we bring members from our big NHS family together to discuss the challenges and opportunities being a NHS brand and their stories of branding in lean and changing times.

HSJ Event: Improving Outcomes for Cancer Patients
Improving outcomes: a strategy for cancer set out how UK health services can rise to the challenge of helping the NHS to deliver improved cancer outcomes that are amongst the best in the world.
Almost a year after Improving outcomes: a strategy for cancer was published; the annual report highlights the challenges of achieving the quality of cancer services and outcomes that the strategy set out to deliver. The report has highlighted the following priorities for the year ahead:
- Delivering improved cancer survival rates
- Improving the quality of life for cancer survivors
- Improving the patient experience
Bringing together the entire community of stakeholders in cancer care, the 2012 Cancer Care Congress will address the key issues facing high quality cancer care service delivery in the context of the new health and public health structures.
