In this session we will look at what it is to lead with compassion (both for self and others), the real and evidence-based benefits for the organisation and why leading with kindness is one of the most courageous decisions an individual can make.   We will consider: What makes a kind and compassionate leader? · What is the evidence base for a new approach to leadership thinking? · How is kindness demonstrated in our leadership practice? · What gets in the way of compassion and kindness in leadership practice? · How can we develop our own practice as a kind leader

Lead facilitator

Eleanor Clarke

Eleanor is an independent consultant and qualified work-place mediator, executive coach, team coach and facilitator. She has worked in both the public and private sector. She started out in research and development before moving into service improvement and change management on behalf of public sector organisations, including the MOD, county councils and the civil service. Healthcare is her favourite working environment, and she has worked in primary and community care and arm’s-length bodies for the last 12 years. Switching from process to people development, Eleanor headed up a new Organisational Development service within an NHS Trust, which quickly became a trusted partner to senior leaders, team leaders and staff throughout the organisation. She continues to have a passion for creating value-based solutions to support a culture of compassion and inclusion. She squeezes in a bit of mediation too.
